Infrastructure (on the basis of the last year’s statistics)

To make this event successful, safe and efficient an elaborate and well organized infrastructure is inevitable.

In order to achieve the above, NEF has built up an elaborate team of experienced marshals for the following:

Transportation:

In order to ensure quick and safe movement of men, material and avoid delays due to logistical problems. For this we estimate around 15 MUV’s, 10 motorcycles.

Radio networking:

To ensure quick and efficient movement of the race throughout its course it is imperative to have a system of effective communication at all nodal points on the route. For this reason we have with us around 20 radio base stations and 20 walkie-talkie sets. This communication is done by the NEF Amateur Radio Club comprising of all amateur licensed wireless radio operators.

GPS (global positioning system):

It is absolutely essential to have accurate and true to scale maps of the race route to facilitate hassle free proceeding of the competitors. Therefore the entire route map of the race is marked on GPS to the very details. The structuring of the race route requires 1 months of meticulous planning comprising of numerous reconnaissance treks to assess the viability of the route with special reference to the time requirements and the difficulty levels. This task entails the voluntary involvement of both the sexes.

Marshals:

In order to man various Time control, Passage control locations a large number of people are needed. Also there are many committees which take care of various departments e.g. course opening team, results committee, medical team, support team, rescue team, communication team, general administration team .
